Marking 20 years by supporting good causes
As part of our 20th anniversary celebrations, Haremi awarded £250 microgrants to eight charities and community organisations nominated by its partners. The initiative recognised causes that hold personal significance for the people who make up the business and reflected Haremi's longstanding commitment to education, community and social impact.
Rather than selecting a single charity, we invited our partner employees to nominate organisations that had made a difference to them, their families or their local communities. The result was a diverse group of causes supporting literacy, mental health, homelessness, community arts, outdoor education, cancer support and children's wellbeing.
The organisations that received grants were:
Bookmark Reading Charity, which helps children develop a love of reading and improve their literacy skills.
Cheltenham Open Door, supporting people experiencing homelessness, isolation, addiction and mental health challenges.
Globe Arts Kids Art Fund, helping children access creative activities and holiday sessions.
Greenwood's Therapeutic Horticulture, offering outdoor education through gardening and animal care for children, including those with special educational needs.
Let's Talk Well, providing mental health support for children, young people and their families.
Read With Me, improving children's literacy through one-to-one reading support and educational activities.
St Mary's Primary School in Tetbury, which is raising funds to improve its outdoor play and learning facilities.
Young Lives vs Cancer, providing tailored support to young people and families affected by cancer.
Several of the nominations were inspired by personal experiences. Our partners, Anita, Ashley, David Norris, David Mantovani, Georgia, Hilary, Jenny, Liberty and Terri, chose organisations that had supported family members during difficult times, enriched their local communities or helped young people access opportunities and support. Others reflected causes that are closely connected to Haremi's work in education, particularly literacy.
As we mark 20 years of helping organisations create learning content, the microgrants provided an opportunity to celebrate the values that have defined our business since 2006. By putting partner nominations at the heart of the initiative, we were able to support causes that matter to our team while marking this important milestone in our journey.
