Accessibility Statement

This accessibility statement applies to www.haremi.co.uk

This website is run by Haremi Ltd. Haremi is committed to designing accessible digital content, and our website is no exception. We want as many people as possible to be able to use our website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts using your browser or device settings
  • zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using a keyboard or speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)
  • use PDF documents linked to from our site with or without the aid of assistive technology software.

We've also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

How accessible our website is

Our website has been tested against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA standard. It is partially compliant with the standard. We know some parts of our website are not fully accessible:

  • some navigational functionality is not fully accessible when navigating via keyboard
  • some input fields are not fully accessible to screen reader software
  • some elements do not have a visible indicator of keyboard focus
  • you cannot skip to the main content when using a screen reader.

Enforcement procedure

The Equality Act 2010 (or the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 in Northern Ireland) states that all UK service providers must consider 'reasonable adjustments' for people with disabilities.

The enforcement of the EAA (European Accessibility Act) varies across EU member states, with each country establishing its own regulatory framework or designating existing agencies to oversee compliance.

Technical information about this website's accessibility

This website was last tested against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA standard on 20th January 2025. The test was carried out using automated testing tools and manual auditing by our website team. The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons:

Disproportionate burden
  • Some text is presented in the form of images, so people who require customised text cannot access the information. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.4.5 (images of text).
  • There is no way to display some text that is displayed on hover when navigating via keyboard, so people who use a keyboard without a screen reader cannot access the information. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 2.1.1 (keyboard).
  • Some menus are not accessible via keyboard, so people who use a keyboard to navigate the site can only access them via the sitemap. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 2.1.1 (keyboard).
  • There is no way to pause, stop or hide moving, blinking and scrolling content, so people who have trouble reading stationary text or people who use screen readers may not be able to access the information. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 2.2.2 (pause, stop, hide).
  • There is no way to skip the repeated content in the page header (for example, a 'skip to main content' option), so people using a screen reader cannot immediately jump to main page content. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 2.4.1 (bypass blocks).
  • Some links do not have link text, so people using a screen reader cannot tell where the link is directing them to. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 2.4.4 (link purpose (in context)).
  • Some page elements do not have a visible keyboard focus indicator, so people navigating via keyboard cannot tell where the keyboard focus is. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 2.4.7 (focus visible).

We've assessed the cost of fixing these issues. We believe that doing so now would be a disproportionate burden within the meaning of the accessibility regulations.

What we're doing to improve accessibility

We have created a sitemap to improve navigation around our site, which you can also find a link to on every page in our website footer.

We will make sure that any newly published content meets accessibility standards.

We plan to review and improve the accessibility of our website on an annual basis.
