Editorial Manager

  • Salary: £25,500 - £37,000
  • Location: Cheltenham
  • Closing Date: 18 July 2025

About the role

At Haremi, our editorial managers serve as enthusiastic and professional leads on each project. They oversee the production of both print and digital educational content across a wide range of subjects and levels – no two projects are the same.

Editorial managers are key members of our cross-functional project teams, setting a high bar for attention to detail and inspiring others to do the same. They focus on building strong, trusted relationships with Haremi's customers by consistently demonstrating a 'can-do' attitude and going above and beyond to exceed expectations.

By thoroughly understanding complex project requirements, editorial managers ensure the quality of Haremi's editorial services. They use their editorial expertise and publishing knowledge to guarantee that content is accurate, engaging, and effective for both teachers and learners. They implement robust editorial processes and controls, coordinating development, review, copyediting, and proofing stages.

Their responsibilities may also extend to managing design, artwork production, and permissions clearance.

When extra support is needed, editorial managers source, brief, and manage subject matter experts and other specialists as required.

To succeed in this role, you'll need the following skills and qualities:

  • Solid experience in managing editorial projects or producing learning content (print or digital).
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
  • Specialist expertise that adds value to educational materials – this could be in a particular subject area (academic or vocational), publishing, teaching, or relevant technical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A collaborative spirit, with proven ability to build strong working relationships across teams and all levels of an organisation.
  • Strong organisational skills, able to adapt and manage schedules to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good budget management skills and a commercial mindset.
  • A positive, solution-focused attitude and a genuine 'can do' approach.
  • Openness, honesty, and integrity in your approach to work.
  • Confident use of Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and other relevant systems and tools.

We also value flexibility – sometimes you may be asked to step outside your usual role to support wider team goals.
